2 weeks.......2 weeks......

Well we had a few sunny days so the front of the house (bar the top peak as we will need spiderman grip or a cherry picker to reach) has been painted 2 coats.
Dad and his friend Kenny organised our back stairs railing, woohoo! No more worrying someone will fall off the edge, end up in the pond and sue us for this money pit
This picture makes me realise how much i want to paint the outside of the rear of the house now too. It may be hideaway from view of the street but pics on the internet last forever. Dad and Kenny also took down our front stairs and stringers which is a good thing because with all the rain we get here they were getting a little soft in the wood if you know what i mean. I was sure i was gonna get tetanus when my foot cracked through a step on my way to the front door. Now the new stringers which we brought a nearly a year ago are up and the new tread have been ordered and awaiting delivery next week. They also concreted a step at the bottom.
My library. Yeah it might be a "study" but that doesn't have the same ring to it now does it. My LIBRARY is also coming along. I finished wallpapering the second wall and have now undercoated all of those amazing casement windows that line the wall. And the french doors that fold out into the lounge room and the verandah. For now this project has been stagnated as we need to gap the ceiling. The one job i never get help with and have to do myself and the one job that causes the most grief and neck pain, so yeah i've moved on for now. To be continued...
Now to the big job we have all been waiting for to make something beautiful out of that crumbling, rotten, CARPETED bathroom. So basically we just demolished this room. The walls, The floor, the toilet - ba-bye, shower - adios, bathtub - LUG LUG LUGGED downstairs and dumped to the side as it was cast iron and too hard to move from here. Then hubby fixed, redirected and installed new plumbing, replaced walls and laid flooring. Our floor tiles and wall tiles have been picked up and are awaiting to my laid. My job is to sealant, gap and fill anything remaining, and the waterproofing will hopefully commence this weekend. Our original plan when we bought the house was to move in within a few months, then it was just a running joke that we would move in, in, 2 weeks....2 weeks... (This must be said in an italian accent, to mimic the movie). Then it was definate, yep we would be in for my birthday. March 15! The bathroom would be completed! Well this didn't happen, so we should have the bathroom done in...2 weeks....2 weeks....
